ASHRAE opens revised residential energy standard for input

Recognizing the amount of energy used by the residential building sector, ASHRAE and IES (Illuminating Engineering Society) say they are revising their residential energy standard with a goal of making it 50% more efficient than the 2006 International Energy Conservation Code.


CaGBC framework to “incentivize the design of highly efficient” buildings

“By embarking on this important initiative, the [Canada Green Building Council] is providing the market with a state-of-the-art guideline and, soon, the third-party verification and support required to make net zero carbon buildings a reality in the near future,” said president & CEO Thomas Mueller of CaGBC’s release of a Zero Carbon Buildings Framework.


Three energy efficiency programs to launch in Alberta

Energy Efficiency Alberta is gearing up to launch three initial energy efficiency programs in early 2017: Direct Install Residential Program, Residential Consumer Products Program, and Business Non-Profit & Institutional Rebate Program.
